RB 330

RB 330 was SAAB’s own project, which was started towards the end of the 1950s. The missile was mainly intended for assault assignments against harbors and facilities at substantial distances from the missile launching locations.

The missile was launched by a powder rocket motor, which was released from the missile at the end of the burning time.

The missile was fired from a launch facility, which also served as a transport vehicle. The missile was then propelled by two ramjets to a cruising speed of M 3.6.  In the final stage the missile will dive from the cruising height and the warhead detonates    at an appropriate altitude.

The project was discontinued in 1959.
