RB 75 Maverick

 

Missile RB 75 is a TV-guided air-to-ground missile, which in the Air Force exists in two versions, missile 75 and missile 75 T, where the difference lies in the warhead layout

(T =heavy warhead). Missile 75 can be carried by the aircraft AJS 37 Thunderbolt and

JAS 39 Griffon.

Operation

During the flight with an activated missile a TV picture from the target tracker is transmitted to the aircraft and laid out on a screen for the pilot. With the assistance from this picture the pilot can direct the target tracker erroneous display to a point, where the target is in the center of his display. Then the pilot locks the tracker on his target.

 

When the missile is fired, control data are transmitted from the target tracker to the robot pilot and on to the hydraulic systems that operates the control surfaces. When the target is hit, an explosive insert in the fuse
